For the Grits:
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 1 cup yellow grits
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 1 cup shredded white cheddar
For the Shrimp & Sauce:
- 4 slices bacon chopped
- 1½ lbs shrimp peeled & deveined
- 1½ cups onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1½ cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup green onions
- ¼ cup parsley
Bring milk, water, and salt to a simmer. A
dd grits while whisking. Cook 10–15 mins until thick.
Stir in butter and cheese. Cover.
Cook bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
