For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Mustard-Cheddar Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place pretzels, flour, and egg-milk mixture in three separate shallow bowls.
Season chicken with salt and pepper.
Dredge in flour, dip in egg mixture, and coat in pretzels.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden.
