Marinating
- 1 lb beef flank steak or skirt steak
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp peanut oil
- 2 tsp cornstarch
Sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Stir Fry
- 2 tbsp peanut oil or vegetable oil
- 1/2 white onion sliced
- 3 cloves garlic sliced
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger sliced
- 1 lb asparagus trimmed and cut into bite-size pieces (or use 1 bell pepper)
In a medium bowl, combine beef with baking soda, soy sauce, oil, and cornstarch.
Mix and let marinate.
Mix all sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add beef in a single layer and cook 1 minute per side until golden. Remove to plate.
Add remaining oil to the pan.
Cook onion, garlic, and ginger for 2 minutes.
