- ¾ cup fresh lemon juice about 4 lemons
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 drops yellow food coloring optional
- 2 ½ cups ice divided
- 1 ½ cups frozen strawberries or use fresh
- ¼ cup water if needed
In a blender, combine frozen strawberries with ½ cup of ice.
Pulse until fully crushed and smooth. If needed, add ¼ cup water for easier blending.
Divide the strawberry mixture evenly between serving glasses.
Rinse out the blender.
Add lemon juice, sugar, food coloring (if using), and remaining 2 cups of ice to the blender.
Blend until the ice is finely crushed and the mixture is slushy.

Use fresh strawberries if frozen is not available, but add a few ice cubes to keep it smooth.
You can reduce the amount of sugar if you like a stronger lemon flavor.
